A companion to ePDS, ePDS/Web lets your customers enjoy the powerful functionality of ePDS. Using a standard web browser, your customers can log into your site to review:
- Open quote information
- Open order information
- Order history
- Shipment history
- Inventory information, including availability, pricing, pictures, and spec sheets
Because the level of information available though ePDS/Web is completely customizable, the amount of information you share with customers is up to you. You also have the choice of sharing a customized set of information to those without a login ID — you can even allow your prospects controlled access.
Because ePDS/web shares the database of ePDS, there’s no copying or loading of data; you and your customers see the same information in real time. In addition, Axiom can seamlessly integrate ePDS/Web with your existing web site — both functionally and cosmetically. ePDS/Web can be configured the way you want it to work and designed to look like your web site. To your customers, the functionality will appear to belong to your company.
- Your customers and prospects can enter their item requirements directly into your website. These requirements are immediately stored as work-in-process customer quotes in ePDS. Your salespeople will see these new requirements, and they can then source, price, and turn the quote around to the customer. The process is fast and accurate because no information is being re-keyed.
- Your customers will be able to select items, see pricing, and create sales orders. Customers can select from the list of their ship-to locations. Based on the weight of the parts, the ship-to location, and the method of shipment, the system can automatically compute the freight charge if shipping with UPS. The system also calculates sales tax for shipments within the United States. Sales orders entered at your web site are saved as work-in-process sales orders in ePDS; these orders may be reviewed by a salesperson before releasing them for fulfillment.
System requirements: ePDS/Web must be hosted by a web server that is running Microsoft Internet Information Server Version 5 or higher (IIS). In addition, the web server must have ODBC connectivity to the database server that is running ePDS.
