User Summit 2010

AXIOM REPORTS RECORD ATTENDANCE AT ePDS USER SUMMIT

Electronic parts distributors converge in New York to learn about new software featuresand discuss how to maximize the value of existing ePDS functions

VALHALLA, NY -- October 14, 2010 -- Axiom Software announced today that this year’s ePDS User Summit, held on September 23 and 24, was the company’s most successful, doubling in size from the 2009 gathering and filling the venue to maximum capacity.

Over sixty users of the company’s Electronic Parts Distribution System, or ePDS, converged in White Plains, New York, for two full days to learn — not only from Axiom’s development and support teams, but from fellow users — how to use the turnkey software to its fullest potential.

“Many clients use only a fraction of the power of ePDS,” said Jeffrey Yagoda, president of Axiom software, in his keynote address. “They’re missing out on important features that are directly applicable to them.”

Engineered to help parts distributors manage practically all aspects of their businesses, ePDS can be customized extensively for the individual front- and back-office needs of a parts distribution business. Because ePDS is so rich in features, even its experienced “power users” might not be aware of all of there that can be gained from the software; this was a key factor in influencing users to attend.

“My company learned a lot from last year’s User Summit,” said Dave Herrera, Director of Operations, Surface Mount Distribution, Inc., “and we spent the next three months enhancing our system with tools and utilities that had been available to us, but we had been unaware of them.

“This year is the same,” he added. “After just day one, we because aware of six major key components that we’re going to implement over the next few months. We’re going to enhance our system and streamline our process, and we wouldn’t have this knowledge without attending the Summit. If you’re not actively talking about ePDS and meeting other people who use it, you’re not getting the whole solution it has to offer.”

Axiom application specialists informed attendees about new ePDS features that facilitate system maintenance, inventory costing, workflow, accounting, lot traceability, and more. Meanwhile, users exchanged insights, tips and tricks regarding the system’s core capabilities — customer relationship management (CRM), warehouse management, inventory control, purchasing, sales, value added services, accounting, and tools that analyze all of these functions together.

“The User Summit is an opportunity to meet other users and exchange ideas with them, and possibly come up with solutions and new ideas,” said Will Kullman, North Eastern Regional Sales Manager at SMD in Nashua, New Hampshire.

The User Summit also benefits Axiom’s clients because the event is an opportunity for the company to hear firsthand how they can continue to enhance ePDS. “Clients are really into the Summit,” Rocco Troiano, Axiom’s vice president, said during the event. “They’re giving us feedback in terms of what they’d like to see in the package next year. It’s also interesting to see how the clients are using the software and how the software benefits each company.”
